English Department

PG & Research Department of English

The department of English was started in the year 1997 and was imparting language classes to all the students. UG programme in English Literature was started in the year of 2005 The Master Degree Programme in English Literature was started in the year 2011. The department bettered its stand by offering M.Phil Research Programmes from 2014 and Doctoral Research Programme from 2020 onwards. The department offers an inclusive curriculum to specialize the learning in the areas such as Journalism, Phonetics, Linguistics, Indian, British, American, Postcolonial and New literatures. It provides fresh avenues for personality development and to gain language skills. It boasts excellent academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular records.


The central objective of this programme is to enrich our students with communication and reading skills in English. The English department is a guide to those who want to explore the world of literature.


The Department plays an active role in the co-curricular activities of the college. Every year, our English department plays a leading role in intercollegiate fests, department fests, tours, webinars and seminars.


The department aims to prepare every student professionally fit for placement programmes in every academic year. Our department provides various orientation programmes and bridge courses to familiarize our students with the course and the curriculum.
